A few weeks ago, I was hanging with my friend Jillian, having wine and snacks (duh), and we got on the subject of age. We talked about how we know 45 year-olds who seem more like 60, and others who seem like 30. And it doesn’t necessarily have to do with outward, physical appearance.
It really is more of a state of mind or “being-ness” that makes them appear older (or younger) than their years. A way of acting, talking, body language, etc. They have resigned themselves to being old, so they act that way.
You could have the BEST diet on the planet and kick butt at the gym; BUT…if you think you’re “old”, then guess what – all of those pesky little things that we’ve come to associate with age will start showing up for you.
It’s not about wanting to be 20 or 30 again, but being the best version of YOU right now. For me, I know that at 45, I’m keeping myself “young” not by dressing or acting like I’m 20 years younger – but more from mindset, confidence from being comfortable in my own skin, and of course making a healthy, fit lifestyle a priority. But make no mistake – it all starts with mindset…a key component that is often overlooked when it comes to aging vibrantly.
It’s really a choice, isn’t it? But it’s also hard to change your thinking when it’s been part of your conditioning for so long, right?
That’s why I’m so excited that enrollment has officially opened for my six week #40isthenew40 Love Your Age Program!
Yes, we are going to cover nutrition and exercise because those are two other key components of Loving Your Age. But we are also going to go to work on mindset, and changing some of those long-ingrained thought patterns and habits that may or may not be aging you too soon :-).
Everything kicks off on 10/19/15 – enrollment closes THIS Friday, 10/16/15 at midnight PT. Head over here to see all the details.
Can’t wait to be with you on this journey!
xoxo,
Tara
