Real quick…in honor of Love Day…I’m having a little Flash Sale! Both my Love Your Age and 12 Week Belly Blaster Programs are heavily discounted through Sunday, 2/18/18! Go grab ’em!

So today is Valentine’s Day…and yes, it is super over done and over commercialized, but hey…anything that promotes LOVE at its base can’t be a bad thing, right? That’s how I choose to look at it anyway.

But for me, it isn’t about extravagant gifts, it’s more about letting those you love know that you love them – and it doesn’t take “stuff” to do this. A sweet card, a phone call or text, quality time together – those are all things that will be remembered years from now, right?

I challenged the folks who receive my email newsletter to make this weekend all about spreading positivity, light and love. I asked them to unplug from the negative news/media, gossip, blaming and complaining and to do their best to spread joy. Are you willing to do that too? Imagine how cool it would be if we all got on the same page with this.

I’d love to see your positive posts of love and joy on social media – tag @primelifefit on Instragram, or find me on Facebook here and here.

Now on to some fun stuff!

In the spirit of Valentine’s Day, here are some things I’m loving right now in the areas of Fitness, Food, Fashion, Fun and Friendship.

Fitness

I’m loving super tough body weight workouts – especially when the weather is nasty, and I can’t make it to the gym. I love getting breathless and burning using only my body, no equipment needed. Here’s an example of one I did yesterday:

4 Rounds – 1 minute each – 20 mins:

Push-ups
Dips
Squat Jumps
Leg Raises
Mountain Climbers

10 minute finisher:
1 min sprint (or any cardio exercise)
10 Burpees
Repeat until 10 mins is up, resting when needed

See more body weight workouts here.

Food

I don’t like to cook. I think doing so much food prep for so long is what turned me off of it. So, I look to super easy and convenient options when it comes to eating healthy. Things like rotisserie chicken, pre-made salads from Fresh Market or Trader Joe’s, meal replacement protein shakes, etc. are usually top of my list for ease. But this week I took out the old crockpot and made a super easy dish of chicken breasts and Trader Joe’s Salsa Verde. It was gone so fast, that I made a second batch with several different kinds of salsa to mix things up. It’s so easy – just throw everything in the slow cooker, add whatever spices you want (or not), and let it roll on low for 6 hours or so. Yum.

Fashion

Lululemon Align tights. Oh.My.Gah. These tights have changed my life. No joke. They are super duper soft and comfy and not as “restrictive” as the Wunder Under. I love the high waist, and I’ve been wearing them with just about everything…longer sweaters and Uggs, warm vests, etc. I have two pairs now and seriously live in them.

Fun

After my dad passed away in 2012, I started thinking about how life is precious and we really owe it to ourselves to enjoy as many moments as possible. In the past year, I’ve made more of a conscious effort to have F-U-N. Part of this has meant indulging in small bucket list items that, while relatively inexpensive, bring a huge amount of joy to my heart. Some may call it selfish, but I have to disagree. When you feel joy, it’s easier to give joy.

My latest little FUN adventure was a trip to the Exotic Animal Experience in Orlando. Highly recommend if you’re in the area and you’re an animal lover like me. This was an incredible experience, and definitely rivaled my visit to Nurtured By Nature back in November.

Friendship

Being an introvert, I have a pretty small core group of friends. But one of the wonderful things about the business I’m in is I get to work (and play) with some amazing women who have helped me expand my circle of positive, supportive friends. The older I get, the more I value these relationships, and I get excited now to meet more like-minded folks. I am a firm believer that you are the average of the five people you spend the most time with, so I choose verrrrry carefully. And not to brag, but my tribe rocks :-). They help me get out of my comfort zone, make me laugh and I’m so grateful for them!
